🔥 Timber & Plaskett Fire Update | September 22, 2026 🔥 
 
Fire crews continue making progress on both incidents in the Los Padres National Forest. 
 
• Timber Fire: 25,436 acres, 59% contained. Crews are monitoring the perimeter, strengthening containment and contingency lines, and directly engaging hot spots when safe. 
• Plaskett Fire: 29,993 acres, 97% contained. Suppression repair work continues, including erosion prevention measures and ongoing patrols. Residents may still see smoke from unburned vegetation within the fire perimeter. 
• Favorable weather conditions are expected to support firefighting efforts throughout the week. Residents are encouraged to stay aware of evacuation zones and forest closure information.
